Eden Alternative Training 

The online course matches the same time commitment of previous face to face 3 day Eden Associate courses and comprise 6 elements:

• 7 Online live 1 hour tutorials running over a 6 week span (end to end).
• A 6 section (1 per week) version of the updated Eden Associate manual.
• A series of relevant ‘Eden’ short Video links.
• A series of simple Eden questionnaires to assist learning.
• A series of 6 relevant 1 x week online discussion topics to enable participants to interact with each other and share their ideas, experience and plans.

The training sessions, can be completed whilst at work or at home.

There is also an alternative Online Associate Course that is run over 3 days, that mirrors the original 3 day Course. We can adapt this according to your organisation wishes.

Completion of the programme leads to the qualification of ‘Certified Eden Associate’ (as already undertaken by almost 2,000 candidates in the UK, and more worldwide).

Series 11 commences on 11.00am Thursday, 5th May 2022.

An Eden Trainer course, refresher courses and 1 day introduction courses will run quarterly.

Either a 4 or 8 hour workshop introducing groups of up to 25 to the Eden Principles. This workshop can be used as an initial information session for owners, managers, staff residents and their families, and communities. The purpose of the workshop is to reach a critical mass of awareness of the Eden Alternative and the Principles. Once hearts are opened minds will follow.

This course can be adapted for staff orientation by local Eden Associates and delivered as required by them.

An 8 hour interactive training where nurses explore ways in which their expertise can be used to implement the Eden Alternative philosophy and enhance their status within the team.

Principle 7 of the Eden Alternative philosophy reminds us that 'medication should be the servant, never the master of genuine human care'. However, it is important to remember that without good medical and nursing care residents cannot achieve their optimum quality of life. With the empowerment of care staff in homes implementing the Eden Alternative Registered Nurses have a vital role to play in education, the promotion of proactive rather than reactive care, and to become experts in the care of diseases that come with advancing age.

This training is usually delivered online.

Given the organic nature of the Eden Alternative it is important for those leading the implementation to be updated on current thinking as to the best methods to support the implementation; to be supported in sustaining the momentum of the culture change and to have the opportunity to discuss areas of success and issues of concern. This is how we all continue to grow in Eden.

This one day course gives experienced Eden Associates who have been introducing the philosophy in their own homes the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of the philosophy; hear about recent developments in Eden; meet with other Associates in similar positions and discuss issues that are important to them. A major part of the programme for the day is developed around information and suggestions from participants prior to the course.
